Entry level positions in the bioscience industry often only require a high school diploma and many of these positions are in demand and hard to fill. Our Technical Skills Bootcamp is a hands-on training experience that will equip you with the tools and knowledge to work in the bioscience industry and prepare you for career mobility.
OVERVIEW
BioKansas recognizes the growing need for accessible and hands-on science education for learners who wish to enhance their knowledge and abilities in lab techniques. This experience will provide a unique opportunity for you to engage in interactive learning experiences, foster a deeper understanding of lab procedures, and prepare you to work in technical science jobs.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This bootcamp is designed for high school graduates (current seniors), undergraduate students, non-traditional students, and adults who are interested in working in an entry level laboratory position, or are looking to enhance their resume. This course is suitable for individuals with diverse backgrounds, including professionals in non-scientific fields, university students, and high school students.
COMPLETING THIS COURSE WILL HELP YOU

Learn universal technical skills essential for laboratory benchwork

Demonstrate an understanding of government regulations and laboratory safety

Complete and understand government-regulated documentation

Understand and perform critical basic lab math and metrology skills.
GETTING CREDENTIALS FOR THIS COURSE
BioKansas is happy to announce that we have teamed up with the Bioscience Core Skills Institute (BCSI) for participants to have the opportunity to receive official micro-credentials of the skills learned through this program. These credentials are a wonderful addition to anyone’s resume, and can be added as official credential icons to your LinkedIn page!

AVAILABLE SESSIONS
This bootcamp is offered in two scheduling formats:

Two 4-hour days - Registration for a Session 1 date and a Session 2 date is required.

Single 8-hour day - Registration for Full Day Session is required.
Please Note: you can sign up for each session on different days (4 hours/day) or sign up for both sessions in a single day (8 hours/day). More dates will be offered and updated on our website throughout the year of 2024.

- Unfortunately at this time, we cannot provide food or snacks for participants.

For the two 4-Hour sessions, please feel free to bring any snacks during these afternoon sessions. Small breaks will be implemented throughout the sessions to accommodate for this.

For the one 8-hour session, please be prepared to bring in lunch and snacks. We will implement not only small breaks, but a 1 hour lunch break. A microwave and refrigerator are available at our location.
